Palm Beach County was once covered with large cattle pastures, vegetable farms and orange groves. Today, it is mostly developed with the exception of the Belle Glade Area. The Farming and Agriculture climate has changed. Smaller farms are now the norm with most cattlemen owning under fifty head of cattle.
As the farming climate has changed so has the needs of the cattlemen. Finding pasture land and feed is becoming more difficult.
Obtaining an agriculture exemption on property used for raising livestock is becoming more difficult.
Above are some of the issues the Palm Beach County Cattlemen's Association is addressing.
We are the Palm Beach County Chapter of The Florida Cattlemen's Association. Representation in Tallahassee is one of our primary interests.
We support the Cattlemen's life style and moniter current issues, watch Environmental Issues, maintain the Green Belt Law, Private Property Rights Protection, Animal Welfare Laws, Water Rights, Maintain Reasonable Fence Law, International Trade, Interstate Shipping, Improve Controlled Burning Legislation and limit Taxation on Agriculture Goods and Services.
