Palm Beach County was once covered with large cattle pastures, vegetable farms and orange groves.  Today, it is mostly developed with the exception of the Belle Glade Area. The Farming and Agriculture climate has changed.  Smaller farms are now the norm with most cattlemen owning under fifty head of cattle.

As the farming climate has changed so has the needs of the cattlemen.  Finding pasture land and feed is becoming more difficult.

Obtaining an agriculture exemption on property used for raising livestock is becoming more difficult.

Above are some of the issues the Palm Beach County Cattlemen's Association is addressing.

What We Do

We are the Palm Beach County Chapter of The Florida Cattlemen's Association.  Representation in Tallahassee is one of our primary interests.

We support the Cattlemen's life style and moniter current issues, watch Environmental Issues, maintain the Green Belt Law,  Private Property Rights Protection, Animal Welfare Laws, Water Rights, Maintain Reasonable Fence Law, International Trade, Interstate Shipping,  Improve Controlled Burning Legislation and limit Taxation on Agriculture Goods and Services.

What's New?

On Monday, October 20, 2008, a membership meeting was held at Gander Mountain in North Palm Beach.

Directors Chuck Russo and Jeremiah Kesner addressed concerns from members.  The members  all agreed that our primary goal should be protecting property rights.

We are researching the posibility of having a staff of Attorney's available to represent members on property rights issues.

Sponsoring an annual Rodeo in our area was also discussed.

The Palm Beach County Cattlemen's Association Cook Team may not have won the beef cook-off event, but I guarantee you we had the most fun trying.

Our display was definately the crowd favorite.  The flaming cow horns coming from Cheney Brothers Cooker and the beer coming from the cow-kegorator were a  big hit.

After the Rodeo on Saturday night, the Palm Beach County Cook Team fed the contestants and volunteers.

We met several fellow Cattlemen and State of Florida Legislatures who support our cause. We look forward to working with these Law Makers.

Next year we hope to bring our A-Team to the event.

Special thanks to Cheney Brothers Inc. for helping sponsor the event.
