Payments to the Florida Cattlemen’s Association are not deductible as charitable contributions for federal income tax purposes. However, they may be deductible as an ordinary and necessary business expense under other provisions of the Internal Revenue Code. Complying with the new tax law, FCA estimates that 69% of the dues payment is deductible as a business expense because of FCA’s direct lobbying activities on behalf of its members.
